Happy New Year,Lets start the year in style

15 Jan

I am in India right now where it is the wedding season. Inevitably it means a lot of parties, gastronomic hedonism and family gatherings.

Recently I was in Delhi attending a friend’s wedding. The clothes everyone was wearing were just beautiful and grand. The Saris, the Anarkali suits and Lenghas were heavily worked and is nothing like I have seen before.

Soon as I arrived in Delhi, I saw a lady getting out of the taxi, she was wearing a purple suit with pink embroidery work and a large lace hemming at the bottom. With many more similar sightings of this style, it became apparent that this design of suit is the latest fashion trend in India.

I had brought a piece of fabric from London and when I arrived in my home town, I got a suit stitched out of it, having embellished it with lace border. I matched it up with leggings and a scarf to complete the outfit and to give it a formal, designer look.

For me it was a practical demonstration of how the colour and style of scarf, when combined with the different colours and designs of the bottoms can bring out either a casual or a formal look to the end result.

Did you do something like this? … was the result interesting or embracing?

More to come later … watch out for the new season upcoming designs on Crowdcaputre.
